How quiet are you once you put baby to bed?

Do you make as much noise as you like - toilet flushing, tv on etc or do you make an effort to keep really quiet?

Our DTs were in special care for 10 days when they were born. When we first came out of hospital you could let a bomb off in their room without waking. Now at 3.6 we daren't flick a light switch Grin

Normal noise here. Can't really stop the dog barking -we've tried! DD normally sleeps through it, but does sometimes wake. Still flush the loo etc.

Normal noise up to and including us going to bed. DS doesn't stir at all really until this point, but if we get up in the night to go to the loo or whatever we make an effort to be really quiet as he seems to turn into a light sleeper from about midnight Confused

Dd was a very light sleeper when under 6mths (reflux hell...) so we were quiet. Then seemed to get better.

She's now 18mths and we're quiet when she initially goes down (for 20 mins or so) until she hits a deep sleep then she's fine. Flushing toilet/washing/dishwasher/bread maker etc (under her room). I wouldn't Hoover upstairs but otherwise it's normal noise.

agree tarka! in pregnancy was exposed to every power tool noise going, because we were renovating a derelict house, as a tiny baby he still was, because we werent finished! (except that the house wasnt derelict, we lived there) Now at 4 months hes a horrendous sleeper, wakes up if one of us sneezes and when awake cries at the sound of the hoover. I was in the 'make lots of noise so they learn to sleep through it' but if they do youre just lucky!
