Books or classes on siblings??

Just found out we're expecting No2 and thought I should start reading up on the best way to cope with bringing the new baby home, introducing him/her to DS and managing that relationship. Very bad memories of my brother's arrival when I was used to being the only one. Also, how should we prepare DS for the new baby? Is the whole 'baby in Mommy's tummy' thing too confusing? Does anyone know of any good books or does NCT offer any classes on this kind of thing? I'd love to hear about your own experiences too. DS will be 2.5 years old when this one arrives.

Congratulations! There's 22 months between DS1 and DS2 and, although we did look at books with DS1, tbh I think he was just too young to take it in. There is an usborne book which takes you through the developing baby in very general terms (has pull out flaps with pics of baby inside mum) which might be appropriate. I found that just talking about the whole process a lot was the best way.

Congratulations, Tex!

I think your DS is probably too young to tell anything much just yet - although dd1 did pick up information from my conversations with other adults, before I specifically told her, but she was older than him (3 when dd2 arrived)...

I should think just the fact that you are aware that you need to be sensitive is the most important thing!

This is an Usborne book - don't know if it's the same one Freckle means. There are links to some others on the same page.

This page lists all the "new baby" books - not sure if you will be able to get it though, amazon links don't always work for other people.

Thanks so much. These books look great! I'm terrible with Amazon. I usually get thousands of books in a list and none of them what I'm looking for so this is really helpful.
