cleaning up after accidents?!

What's the best thing to use to clean up after a wee/poo on the carpet? I know I need to go for it with dd in knickers so she knows when she's wet - but worried about the mess......

I've found good old hot soapy water works best and then soak up the excess with some paper towel.

You could try keeping the potty in one place, preferably on a carpet that you don't mind getting a bit wet or where you got tiles or something.

There's bound to be a few accidents but I've always found that the potty being in the same place all the time helps.

Hope it all goes well and's not too messy

Put an old towel down with the potty on top as most accidents will happen near the potty - this will soak up most of the accidents. I remember dd having a catapulting poo incident - not good!

baby wipes, dettox and 1001 spray

big roll of bounty kitchen paper
baby wipes
dettox wipes (or spray I suppose)

buy lots of pairs of knickers so that if its a messy poo you can just chuck them .. it took me a long time with DS to realise that toddler knickers cost about 30p each which isn't that far away from nappies so I just chuck the ones where the poo doesn't just roll off
