Anyone know of a 100% cotton nappy exactly like wambamboos?

I have some wambamboos which I LOVE but I would like to find some 100% cotton nappies that I can dry quickly by putting on the radiator to suppliment them.

I would love to find some that are exactly the same as my wambamboos but made of cotton.

Anyone any ideas/recomendations?

Hmmm... Tots are similar, but they have different sizing on the tabs etc don't they. I'm not sure how clwt twt compare.

Now off to do some research... is it the tab sizing that you like, the seperate booster, something else, or a mixture of the lot?

Dragonhart · 24/10/2006 10:11

Long tabs, thin front so I can fold it down for next baby and separate booster.

Looked at tots but dont like the attached booster.

Was looking at Diddy diaper size two. Looks pretty similar in the tab length in the bigger size and could buy a booster spearatly for my older son when he wears it.

Cant find many people that use them to find out if they are any good.

Hmmm... I've got a feeling I tried a diddy diaper and it wasn't very easy to get a good fit

cornflakegirl · 24/10/2006 11:30

If you're looking for fast drying, what about the Tots fluffle? The booster is detachable.

Flamebat · 24/10/2006 11:42

They are very bulky though. The imse vimse one on twinkle looks good - don't know anyone who's tried it though, and it is a bit pricey.

Tempted to try making one....

Def looking for a slim nappy. Got super large terrys for really quick drying but DS looks like john wayne when he wears them which is fine for home but not for out and about. Also want something that will fit under his trousers.

What about Bumbles? You can take the booster out for a little baby and popper them down (they sort of concertina) and then you can add the booster for bigger babies and even extra stuffing too for night. The tabs aren't that long though but my ds is chunky and fits them well. I have a diddy diaper size 2 also and I'm not that keen. I tend to use it as an end of the day nappy or as a spare in the changing bag. It does have really long tabs and a very high rise though.

cornflakegirl · 24/10/2006 12:14

Yep, fair point. Ds is in disposables at the mo (to try to help clear an infection) - and his trousers go on so much more easily!

Are wambamboos really skinny? We've got a bamboozle that I bought in the hope that it would fit better under some of his trousers, but it didn't seem to make much difference.

Flamebat · 24/10/2006 12:25

Reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally skinny

Flamebat · 24/10/2006 12:27

these have been suggested

Dragonhart · 24/10/2006 18:47

Really want a nippa one, although they do look nice. Thanks for looking Flame, will keep shoping around.

Wambamboos are, as Flame said, very skinny Cornflake. I would say that DS's trousers are as loose as with disp. I fold the booster at the front so the bum is really neat but there is lots of padding where he needs it. Love them except for the drying!

sorry to hijack, but I really like the look of the wambamboos (finding it very difficult to get trousers to fit dd3 now in her bamboozles) - how does the sizing work?

MrsWaggsnapps · 24/10/2006 19:29

If you are okay with terries, how about bamboo terries, slim and fast drying???

Dragonhart · 24/10/2006 19:43

Polly - You can buy 2 sizes but I would say you only need the larger size as it is so slim so would fit a newborn. Because the booster is separate, you could just leave it out and fold the front down for new born and it would still be really slim. Even with the booster in it would be realyl slim. I am using them on my rather heavy 15month DS and am planning to use them on my baby born in Jan.

Got some bamboo terries Mrs Waggsnaps but only the 60cm ones so are too small for using as a nappy for DS. I use them as a really good booster for the night and naps and plan to use them on the new baby as a nappy.

What I really want is something that I can use when out and about. I find folding nappies fine, but the wrigglier DS gets, the harder it is and I dont fancy it on those tight fold-down tables everywhere seem to have.

I have a little lamb nappy but find it a bit bulky on ds, prob about the same as bamboozles.
Could you not buy more wbb nappies?
I use wbb or ellas house hemp when i am out but just use cotton one life or terry squares at home.

Pollybloodyanna · 24/10/2006 20:47

thanks Dragonhart - I will try one out.

Flamebat · 24/10/2006 20:56

Still investigating... and if I do get a chance to play with a sewing machine at the weekend, I'll let you know how the terry version goes.

Dragonhart · 24/10/2006 21:29

Cheers Flame!

Think that will be the best option though littlepiggie. Perhaps get some more Wambamboos and some more bamboo terry squares (which are lovely by the way!).

Does anyone know if I could unpick the stitches in a totsbots for the sewn in booster to make it more like the WBBs?

OP posts:
Flamebat · 29/10/2006 21:35

Yup that should be easy.

I have had the weekend from hell, so no sewing here

Dragonhart · 29/10/2006 21:43

Poor you Flame. Hope all is ok.

Have seen 10 size 2 tots for £63 so was thinking of getting them and taking them apart. Hoping good for DS now and good as btp for new baby without the booster in. I have a choice of rainbow, tots white or unbleached. Which do you think would be best?

OP posts:
Flamebat · 29/10/2006 21:48

Rainbow are best for slimness, unbleached are bulkier but the most absorbant (and they end up white with sunlight anyway)

Dragonhart · 29/10/2006 21:55

Cheers flame, think I will go for the rainbows as I have my lovely WBBs for absorbancy!

Thanks again for all the advice! xxx
