8 week immunisations - what to expect?

DD has her 8 week immunisations this afternoon and I am feeling quite anxious about it. Have asked my Dad to accompany us for support as DP has used up all of his annual leave until April. Any advice regarding what to expect afterwards would be useful! Many thanks.

It's fine. My daughter did get quite upset and showed this by doing a massive poo as a reaction to the jabs. She was fine after a change, cuddle and feed. She was then a bit unsettled for the rest of the day.

I think Dd was a bit sleepier than usual afterwards.

DS was very sleepy and had a bit of a temp after but a bit of calpol and some cuddles later and he was fine. His little leg was a bit red where the jab was though.

I cried more than he did Confused

Both my DC were absolutely fine. At 8 weeks there are 2 jabs, one in each leg, so you'll need to strip off her bottom half. Dress her in something that's easy to get off and on.

Mine did cry but got over it fairly quickly, I fed them in the waiting room afterwards. DC1 was a bit unsettled the rest of the day but DC2 you wouldn't have known she'd had anything!

They're fine, over and done with pretty quickly, the new rotavirus one is oral and you'll be advised about careful hand washing for 7 days
Ds was a bit miserable so gave him calpol and was happy with less clothes on, after his 2nd ones he just slept more

The jabs are fine. Some children don't react at all afterwards but both of mine had a colicky night crying and crying a day or two later. Then with DD we've had the runs for 2-3 days about a week after each set of jabs.

Many thanks all. It's as if she can sense that something is afoot as she's having an unsettled morning and crying in her sleep. Am feeling like a bit of a basket case already! Thank you again. Calpol on standby just in case!

Mine barely even registered it. Cried a bit but settled on the boob after.

The second and third lot of jabs he didn't even cry!

DD didn't bat an eyelid. Her poos were quite explosive for a few days after, but otherwise couldn't tell the difference!
