How to make going in the pram more bearable?!

DD is 8 weeks and tends to be a fairly calm and contented baby but becomes inconsolable when we go out in the pram. I currently try to head out when she is asleep and none the wiser although this isn't always practical and I feel terrible, not to mention horribly self-conscious, pushing a screaming infant to an appointment or an activity where we need to be there at a specific time. I've tried talking to her to reassure her, hanging a cellular blanket over the front and bringing Ewan the Dream Sheep with us, to no avail. I long to get to a point where she is awake and happy in the pram - not least so we can go to the shops and set about spending all the gift cards we were sent when she was born! Smile Any tips? Is trying a sling my only hope?! I have been looking for a musical toy that plays nursery rhymes with no luck. Does such a thing exist and if so, would that be worth a try?

Sheepskin worked for mine- cheap at ikea and big enough to cut in half to have half in cats eat too. Either way, don't panic; she'll get used to it!

Carseat. Cats don't eat sheepskin (do they?)

Had the same with my DS. Ended up just using a sling. Happy baby (loved sleeping in it) resulted in a happy mummy. Also meant I didn't have to fight for space on the bus Wink . When he was 5 months I tried him in a stoller which he now loves as he likes to look at the world. One thing I did try before giving up on the carrycot was to roll a towel up and put it around him. I think this made him feel more secure (less bumping about). It had some success. Good luck.

Thank you both for the advice. Should the baby lie directly on the sheepskin or is it best to put a sheet over it? A trip to the sling library is earmarked for Monday - I just hope we can get there without her screaming Smile

Yes, car seat on wheels, or sling. I moved DS into his pushchair seat at 4 months, he was much happier.

Buy a good sling, maybe a Connecta or Mai Tai.

It's not worth it with the pram.
