Usually eggs and porridge weekdays. Weekends we do different, this Saturday we all had eggs benedict, Sunday was pancakes

bagofsnakes · 26/01/2015 08:09

I choose and it's always porridge Smile We throw in fruit, usually grated apple for a bit of sweetness. I also keep a big bag of frozen berries in for when we don't have apples. Toast to follow if anyone is still hungry. One weekend morning we'll have pancakes (DH is from the US)

Cereal, toast and fruit here. Same at the weekend too.

Ragwort · 26/01/2015 08:21

Varies - my DS (14) would love a bacon sandwich every morning but I try to restrict them to the weekends. DH always loves a full cooked breakfast at weekends so he tends to do that (whilst I stare miserably at a low fat yogurt and fruit Grin).

DS will either have cereal, peanut butter sandwich or pain au chocolat (if they are reduced) for breakfast, sometimes he'll eat a bit of fruit or yogurt. Ate a much healthier breakfast when he was younger and just had what he was given.

I personally get bored having the same thing every morning for breakfast so I do try and have different options available.

Porridge, oatabix, muesli, eggs during the week

Cooked ordeal fast or pancakes at the weekend.

My theory is if they are having wheat for lunch, best avoid wheat for breakfast. Best to have a mixture of grains

Violettatrump · 26/01/2015 08:26

Breakfast not ordeal fast

Cliffdiver · 26/01/2015 08:33

DD1 (3.3yo) has a cup of warm milk, porridge with banana and honey and then a slice of marmite toast or raisins if she's still hungry.

DD2 (10mo) has bf, porridge mixed with raspberries or yogurt and then slices of banana and some dry cereal hoops (doing a mix of spoon and blw).

I have a cup of coffee if I'm lucky Grin.

Cliffdiver · 26/01/2015 08:37

Sorry, meant to add I choose, although DD1 will occasionally ask for cereal.

Same at the weekends.

If DH and I are having a cooked breakfast then DD1 will have the same, DD2 may have a small bit along with a smaller bowl of porridge.

I do sometimes feel guilty about giving them the same breakfast every day but figure whilst they're happy to eat a healthy and filling breakfast every day I should make the most of it.

Toast and a granola bar in the week as he's a creature of habit. Weekends he can have a treat breakfast so it varies.

mumofboyo · 26/01/2015 10:44

Mine are only young (2&3) and they choose their own from the cupboard. Sometimes it's porridge, sometimes blueberry wheats, sometimes cookie crisps or whatever else we have open at that time. They get it ready too (they've decided that they don't like milk on their cereal so eat it dry Confused ). They sometimes don't eat their breakfast, in which case I put it back it its box and offer them something later on if they're not at nursery. The same thing happens every morning.

CMOTDibbler · 26/01/2015 10:47

Wheatabix with hot milk on weekdays, toast/bacon sarnie/ porridge/ croissant (depending on whats around) at the weekend

Heleng1982 · 26/01/2015 21:06

during the week we have cereal, porridge, toast or yoghurt and fruit. Attached the weekends we have the same choices plus a cooked breakfast which usually just consists of sausage and scrambled egg for the kids their choice Smile
