Silly question - sterilising

A quick, silly question...

About to travel to Thailand with DS who is 14 months.

I'm taking some Milton sterilising tablets just in case I decide or feel I need to sterilise his bottles/dummies while away.

Can I use the Milton tablets in tap water that wouldn't be deemed safe for drinking?

I'm sure the answer is yes (presumably they kill all bugs), but thought I'd see what others have done!

Thanks WinkWink

I've asked DH for you (he's a well travelled chemistry prof). He says local tap water with sterilising tablet is fine, however reputable bottled water would be best (ie one you know). If the bottled water is an unknown local one then stick with the tap water plus tablets.

Yes sterilising wipes for the dummies at least, they are tommee tippee brand tho NOT the Milton wipes - those ones are for non baby eating surfaces only Wink

Will the hotel now microwave sterilise for you, if you take a small unit or the medela steam bags?

Hahaha you have all made me laugh, thank you!

So, wipes/tablets are packed! Will be using bottled water... If indeed I feel the need to bother!

Flying tomorrow night - wish us luck!

I used sterilizing tablets in bottled water in Cuba with my 9mth old. It was perfectly easy. Thats what I would recommend. Just keep a few 3l bottles of water in your accommodation for bottles etc.
