Seems a brand new scooter didn't quite seal the deal!

I've just potty trained my DD's and we've been totally dry for about 2 weeks. This past week we've had a fair few accidents. Until now I've not made a fuss and said "Never mind you're still a big girl and big girls go to the loo or the potty. You'll manage it next time" type things. How can I make these accidents stop? Are these accidents merely parr for the course? Is there a better way of handling it? Any wisdom you may be willing to share I'd be grateful for, I love being a mummy but poo in knickers that I'm responsible for dealing with is the most awful thing I've encountered in my life. I do deal with it with a smile but you can't begin to imagine how grim I find it.(Well actually I'm sure you can!)

I think this is reasonably common. For the first couple of weeks it's a novelty - for both of you and then it becomes abit more mundane and DC gets caught up with more interesting things (playing/watching paint dry etc). Were you giving rewards when she made it to the toilet/potty - if so, maybe she's bored with them now.

With my DD1 she was dry at a fairly early age, but couldn't hold it for any length of time so it wasn't practical when we left the house. So I put her back in nappies and tried again 3-4 mths later. Left DS so long before toilet training - he did it himself without any accidents.

Depends on age of your DD but you might want to go back to nappies for awhile. It might feel like a step backwards but might be easiest option for a while.

If you do decide to perserve (as my BF did with her DS) you might have to accept this a parr for the course for a couple of months (in BF's case) and carry on with the positive comments. Sympathy on the poo in knickers front though!
