Two year olds - what are their main common behaviourable characteristics?

Plus the 'I want insert unreasonable request' and the 'I do it' for things like buttons then throw a got when they can do them.

Yep, won't be helped but tantrums when they can't do it alone.

I don't bother walking on eggshells - if you're damned if you do and damned if you don't you may as well just continue as you were!

I love the suggestion that they are like little drunkards! My 2.7yo dd2 is a lot like this yet simultaneously the most loving, demonstrative little soul I've ever met

Mine can cry at the drop of hat. Super happy, but can start crying and screaming the next. She has the ability to turn on and off her water works so easily! Drama queen for sure. It must be the age. I hope so anyway!

My almost two year old came up to me this morning, pointing at the tears on her cheeks and looking puzzled. I explained that she'd been crying and those were tears. She looked very thoughtful.

Her most defining characteristic at the moment is weird and transient attachments to odd things. This morning she took a teabag to Nursery.

tears at the drop of a hat, then back again

very, very affected by illness/tiredness/hunger

curious about everything

attention demanding

very funny (sometimes deliberately )

very sweet, when on good form

refusing a nap until the afternoon school run, then staying awake until midnight (yes I realise the two are linked)

asking for something by shouting the name of what it is she wants, then continuing to say it over and over until she either gets it or is told no, in which case she will decide on something else to ask for and say it over and over and over omfg kill me now

I looked at her today and wondered how have I already survived 2 DC getting through the toddler stage

Totally irrational. Utterly demanding. Bloody minded to the extreme. Like a hormonal teenager ... Up, down, up down....

Extremely amusing. Too darn cute at times when you just want to be cross. Irritating, irritating, irritating and never bloody cooperate at crucial times!

Have me reaching for the bottle of wine each night, exhausted and often despairing, yet still for some strange reason regaling their behaviour to my husband with love I can't quite understand.....possibly because they're asleep, and sleeping toddlers are adorable, and best of all, quiet.

Mum to a 17 month old and a 28 month old.

Heartbreakingly angelic one minute and something out of The Exorcist the next. Glad to hear this is clearly normal.
