Do you get out every day with your baby?

Just that!

I do my best to as the day goes SO much quicker! DD is now 2 and I am on mat leave again as DC2 due next month so toddler rather than baby, but I did the same when she was small and will try to again when DC2 arrives. It can be a massive faff especially as we live upstairs but worth it!

purpleapple1234 · 21/11/2014 14:42

Yes. DD is a toddler now but everyday since the day she was born we have been out. I get too claustrophobic to stay in from morning to night. She has always enjoyed going outside. Have pictures of her running around like a loony in a summer storm.

Hoggle246 · 21/11/2014 14:43

Yep, I did as soon as I could walk again Grin. In the very early days it was mostly because I read that exposing them to natural daylight helps set their body clock and teach dif between night and day. Ds now 11 mo and now I get out every day because we'd both go crazy if not.

My daughter is 4 weeks old and I try to get out with her every day - it makes me feel good and like I've achieved something! However we've had the odd sofa day too I must admit!

GotToBeInItToWinIt · 21/11/2014 15:15

Yes, DD is 12 months now and we've only had 2 days since she was born that we haven't gone out somewhere. I go insane at home!

GinGinGin · 21/11/2014 15:16

Definitely! I'm too lazy to entertain her all day so going out is a good way to kill time and get exercise. Dd is now 2 so I usually carry her for part of the way and let her walk the rest

NickiFury · 21/11/2014 15:21

I used to yes, even if just to the local shop for a paper. It gives the day some structure and also helps to tire small babies out so they'll sleep!

Thurlow · 21/11/2014 15:23

I always did, unless it was torrential rain or snow all day every day. Much more for me than for them. I needed the structure and the excuse not to just sit there. Plus sometimes you got to chat to people, which was nice on a day when I had nothing on. In fact, I used to split the shopping into 2 or 3 goes so I had reasons to get our the house a few times Blush

Allstoppedup · 21/11/2014 15:25

I try too or I get cabin fever! DS has had chickenpox this week so we've stayed in whilst he's contagious and I'm going loopy! Fresh air seems to tire him out and I get a chance to see people who don't have a strong desire to pull out my hair, puke on my clothes or bash me on the head with maracas or if they do they control themselves

BackforGood · 21/11/2014 15:42

I tried to - just for my own sanity.. put in the pram and walk down to the shop or round the block or something. Bit of fresh air made the world of difference.

Tallblue · 21/11/2014 16:27

I try to...but don't always make it! Took me a while not to beat myself up about it, but now accept there are good days and bad. DH often takes DD out for a walk in a sling after he arrives home from work, so either way she gets some fresh air. I do always feel better on the days we get out, except the times she has a meltdown in the car seat....

strawberryshoes · 21/11/2014 16:29

Unless you count the school run with the older one twice a day, no, not always. It is cold, wet, windy, and gets dark so early that I often stay in the house all day with my 8 month old. I would say I go out 3 out of every 5 days. The other 2, we are inside with toys and books and a duvet!

NotTodaySatan · 21/11/2014 16:31

Only on the school run. And that's plenty, anti-social sod that I am.

I get the shopping delivered and I don't do baby groups.

I do walk 6k every night with the dog though so no shortage of fresh air.

Seriouslyffs · 21/11/2014 16:35

Every day without fail. I would have gone crazy- they're all teenagers now but even pre school run days we got out every day. Once when one of them had chickenpox we stayed in all day and I flew out of the door when DH got home. Wink

ZebraZeebra · 21/11/2014 17:07

Since he was two days old - I couldn't bear being cooped up. Even in torrential rain and snow though snow makes me feel even more claustrophobic. Think it's really good for them too. DS is now two, I'm 25 weeks pregnant and we still go out for at least four hours a day.

lornathewizzard · 22/11/2014 12:46

Nope, not at all. I get so tired out if I go out every day! Maybe 3 out of 5 weekdays and weekends are variable!

DearGirl · 22/11/2014 12:49

I am a nanny but I take the babies out everyday. We go to groups, we go to friends for coffees, we may just go into town or for a country walk but we definitely get out everyday.

BentleyBelly · 24/11/2014 22:07

Not every day. I enjoyed lots of snuggly breastfeeding in front of the tv. I have horses so we went out to feed them and I would poo pick whilst baby napped in the car or buggy every afternoon but I'd do it quick as possible so we could get back into pjs and be lazy. Why not?! Its only for a few short months in the grand scheme of things. I miss it!
