How much pocket money do your kids get?

That's it really, how much do your kids get at what age and what do they do to earn it?

Our 3.10yo gets a blanket £10 a month to spend on toys. We do not include books and magazines in that (or anything educational for that matter). At the moment he is independent on command and is relatively compliant, so earning his pocket money isn't necessary. I guess the £10 a month is to ensure we don't overspend on toys - I would happily spoil him silly given the opportunity.

Once he starts school, we may split it so £5 automatic and £5 earned. It depends if he continues to cooperate. At the moment he has no concept of money and would rather earn chocolate buttons!

14yo DD gets £50 a month that's for coffees, cinema, make up, non essential clothes.

DS1 gets £3 a week, at 10. We're raising that to £5 a week on his birthday, though, if we can set him up with a bank account, we may modify that to staying at £3 a week and putting £10 a month into the account.

No earning involved, btw, but he does get opportunities to earn extra, in the holidays.

Pocket money will vary according to age. My 10 year old gets £3 a week plus an extra £1 each week to go in his Xmas tin so that he can buy his own presents for people at Xmas. He also gets a 'bonus' occasionally for achievements which will be anything between £2 and £5. When he goes up to high school he will get a huge pocket money increase to around £10 per week.

DD 9 gets £1.80, DS 7 gets £1.40.

DD1 who is 9 and DD2 who is 7, get £5 per month. DD1 also earns an uplift of maybe an extra £2 per month if she has consistently looked after the chickens. DS who is 5 gets maybe £2 a month if I remember, but he is fairly unconcerned. They don't really spend much to be honest. They save it and then occasionally buy something. DD1 buys books fairly regularly - but we tend to buy them used on Amazon so that's only £2.50 or so. At the moment, even though she is 9, DD1 simply doesn't need more - she doesn't have the opportunity to spend it really.

15 yo DS gets £30 a month. It's treated separately to chores, and I still cover things like clothes/travel/toiletries/phone. He tends to save a fair bit of it.

16 year old gets about £60 a month and she also works part time . 7 year old nothing as yet - might think about it soon

DS is 8 and started getting £1.50 a week after his birthday. DD is younger so doesn't get any yet.

It's not linked to chores as I expect them to do them any way. It's for spending on comics and treats. Mostly he saves it. Recently he wanted to buy a Minecraft book at the school book fair so used his saved up pocket money for that.
