thats it really..have sussed potty in one week..no accidents but playgroup aren't keen on the potty and prefer them to use the toilet(I was soooo pleased with myuself for sussing the potty I didn't think I had to do anything else.)

Any tips for getting them to use it and how long it takes after potty training..I have a toilet seat like a potty but she isn't keen and I really don't want to pressure her because she has done so well..she is strong minded and wouldn't even sit on the potty one month ago|!!

She is 2.9 btw

I personally wouldn't let the nursery push you into making her used to the toilet, I don't see what the problem is with the potty.

sorry not helpful at all, I have no tips to get her used to the loo sorry

sorry playgroup not nursery but still I don't think they should mind

Don't pressurise her, and don't let playgroup pressurise either of you - let her do it in her own time.

Dd got used to the toilet gradually - when we went out I would hold her onto the toilet, when she needed a wee while she was upstairs I would hold her on the toilet - and eventually she just took herself off and used it.

It will come - but only when she's ready.

I bought a secure toddler seat for the upstairs loo (clicks on and has handles to help climbing up and feeling secure), and a wide step. Ds (2.7) now uses this independently, after a few weeks of helping. He also uses the step to reach the sink for tooth-brushing and general water mayhem. He still uses the potty downstairs, but I'm thinking of swapping the arrangement now that he's more confident. Can't find the one we've got, or I'd do a link, but lots of places have them. HTH

Just to add, he took his own potty to nursery for about 4 weeks, then started using the nursery potties, and has just started using the nursery's little toilets, but it's all been a gradual process, with no pressure from them or me.

Don't let playgroup push her. You may find she quite likes to use the toilet with her friends but can you put her potty in her bag to take with her? Its only been a week after all.

At home after a wehile, move the potty to the toilet (unless thats where it normally is) and when she is used to making it that far without an accident then when she wants to go, ask her if she wants the toilet or the potty.
Thats what we did with DS1, he had his potty in the loo room and a seat on the loo and i gave him the choice.
