looks like we are both sitting here with the same type of problem - not much advice but just to say my DD was late getting hang of the poos and then just 'clicked' - we ended up having to sit her on her potty in front of the TV at a set time each day - not the best but itgot her in the right direction

What about putting a nappy in the potty so it still feels the same? If your son is using the loo make sure he has a stool to rest his feet on. My daughter had problems using the loo for a poo so we got the potty out again. It is easier for little ones to do one on the potty because of the postion of the legs. She still poos in her night nappy but will use the loo if the time is right.

I'll have a go but by the sounds of other boards it's just a waiting game.

God knows what you'll think to this idea, I thought it was crazy when I heard it, but if you're desperate I guess you'll try anything?!!

The HV said that if the child was scared of doing a poo in the potty, you should put a poo shaped piece of brown plastacine in there just as they sit down, without them seeing it. They will then think "i did a poo! It didn't hurt!" Apparently this should work and they'll poo in the potty from now onward.

I just want to re-itterate this is only an idea I heard about, I've never had to try it and I don't necesserily agree with it.

Good luck!

You can't be serious who came up with that one well if I get desperate. I suppose it has to be brown any other colour might freak them out even more!!!
