She goes in her own room for naps but never quite been brave enough to leave her there all night. But tonight she looks so comfy I haven't the heart to disturb her and bring her in our room, she's quite restless at times in our room and I think it's because she struggles to get comfy. In her room she has this lovely cot bed with a big soft matress. In our room she's just in a travel cot. . I'm so scared tho, is it normal to feel this way. SIDS scares the hell out of me and id never forgive myself if something happened, please hold my hand and say it will be ok, she's 9 months

I hated it for a week.

I wouldn't have them back in now.
Both were about that age.

They were fine.

Be brave, unless you really hate it, in which case bring her in and try again when you feel up to it.

Totally ok.. Good for her and you. We were scared putting our baby in own room bit did at jut under six months as we didn't like him in the travel cot. He's so much cosier in his cot in own room and I'm sleeping much better, used to wake everytime he sniffled. You will be glad.

I had a baby monitor on so loud the static kept me awake the whole night when DD1 first went into her own room!

Here's hoping you both sleep tight.

All Mine went in own room at 9 weeks as they kept me awake! As long as don't have anything around them and you follow guidelines, should be fine? At 9 months, they can move themselves now ..... So chance of anything happens does reduce and best not to get them too used to you. I would go back now at all.

tywysogesgymraeg · 24/10/2014 14:05

Not sure if this helps, but she's as likely to die of SIDS in a cot next to your bed, or while napping during the day, as she is in a cot in her own bedroom.
Enjoy the peace - both you and she will get a better night's sleep.

Busymumofone · 24/10/2014 16:38

I was exactly the same - didn't want my precious DD far from me. For exactly the same reasons you mention. But someone said that she'd sleep better in her own room. So we moved her at about 6 months and she's been a better sleeper ever since. But don't feel under any pressure, do it when you're ready.

Singmetosleepzzz · 25/10/2014 20:40

DD is 2 tomorrow. She is still in with us. I wish wish wish we had more room so she could have her own room. Enjoy the space (although I was a bit like you with my DS!!)

Flisspaps · 25/10/2014 20:48

I still fret something will happen to mine in the night if I'm not in the room with them. I sometimes think about climbing into bed with one, but then worry that I should be in with the other one. Do I just bring them both into my bed (no, they're mad fidgets and then no-one will sleep!)

They're 4 and 2 Grin

poocatcherchampion · 25/10/2014 22:29

I'm not sure that is true gymraeg - I think there is evidence that them being in the room with you reduces SIDS.

just to clarify in case anyone reads this and thinks that.
