DD is almost 16 months and these are just a few books she's been into since she was 1...

They're all pretty robust - she loves books with flaps too (but does try and rip them off so i have to be with her when she's looking at these).

Enjoy

my 1yo ds loves flap books. We have to read Dear Zoo every night!! he is really good with flap books and ours are all still in tact!! Also peekaboo barn is a big big hit!!

Peekaboo Park and Peekaboo Farm popular here.

I personally love the Janet and Allan Ahlberg books (Each Peach Pear Plum, Peepo, the Babies Catalogue). They have beautiful and very detailed pictures, so you can either go with the real 'story' or just talk about the pictures - there's tons to see and talk about.

Both mine loved the very hungry caterpillar - I got one which came with a toy caterpillar that I use as a prop when reading. They also liked dear zoo - I put together a box full of the animals in the story and we pull them out as we're reading. We borrowed a book from the library where spot goes to the park, the farm, the beach and then home. They had to name or point to different items on the page that spot could see (the book got torn and we ended up keeping it). They liked the bear hunt story and loved doing the actions as we were reading it - they always wanted to read it over and over again, which got a bit tiring!

My 11 month old adores the 'That's not my...' series. That's not my baby is a particular favourite.

Playthegameout · 26/10/2014 18:25

Google "baby lit" they're a fab set of books based on literature. Each one focuses on teaching a certain thing, like weather (Wuthering Heights) or sounds (Sherlock Holmes). They also have quotes from the original texts and brilliant illustrations. Our Ds loves them!

They sound great. Playthegameout.

DS loves his books - favourites seem to be hairy maclary, dear zoo and spot lift the flap books, Paul thurlby's alphabet and there was an old lady who swallowed a fly.

The 'that's not my' are great but I found they were pricey - got a job lot in excellent condition on ebay though.

Those busy farm, town, airport etc ones. Pub Campbell.
