How long did it take your DC to settle at nursery?

& how old we're they?

DD is 13 months and we've done two weeks of settling in, her first almost full day is Monday next week. I like the nursery and think her key worker is lovely, and looks after her really well but I can see DD finds it tough despite being a usually independent fearless little thing. She cries big sad tears when I pick her up Sad

I'm guessing it could take a good few weeks for her to enjoy it? To be fair the other kids there seem to be loving it!

DS is 13m and loves nursery, has never cried at drop off but he is a bit of a mess when we go to pick him up. I think it's just a long and busy day for them and DS for example doesn't nap well there so he's pretty broken by the end of it.
We try to pick up early when we can. I think they're just still quite little and they'll have more ups and downs throughout the day, if that makes sense. Will your dd be doing full days?

Full days, but only 3 days per week... They are still so little at 13m aren't they? Just because she's strides around and looks more grown up than she is, it's easy to forget they're still babies!

I work with little children, often they are fine during the day but cry as soon as they see their parents. It's a kind of release, they have been playing, having fun but nothing beats being with your mum and/or dad. (Well sadly for some children, nursery is better than home but hopefully that's the minority!)
