I looked into it (thinking ahead to when ds2 is at school in 2008) but all the courses are full-time so don't think I will be able to manage it.

frenchconnection · 30/09/2006 13:36

yeah they are all full time but with long holidays... i will be having to rely on childminders etc if i do get accepted, and my ds will be only 3 so wont even be at school... i guess i could always change my mind

I am on the SALT course at DeMontfort University in Leicester. I'm in the third year and I have a baby. It's not easy with children as it's full time with placements. They tell us to think of the course like a full time job 9-6pm. HTH.

saadia · 01/10/2006 04:44

luceuk that is helpful, frenchconnection just see how you go, I'm sure it would definitely be worth doing if you could manage it.

I'm about to go out for dinner with my bf who is a SALT - anything you want me to ask her tonight? Her degree was a "top up" after an MA at uni.

My niece is doing one. She loves it, it is academicaly very demanding and I think that she needed either 2As and 1b or the other way round.

On her course you have to get passing marks in all the modules, or you have to resits, so they are looking for a consistantly high standard through the course.

She loves it an is looking forward to trying to get a job in a special schoo at the end

im at city...just started my fourth year,of the undergrad course.

it is hard jolly/bloody/f*ing hardwork and worth every single minute of it.

i got preg in my first year,ds is now three.in many ways having children is a bonus,a massive bonus.

i know of parents on th epostgrad course too...who incidentally all did really well! (god knows how the post grads do it but they do)

being able to type would be another massive bonus

i might sound all amtter of fact and bullet pointy but i really really love doing this degree.
