nappies at 3?

Ds is still wearing his pull-ups for poo & pee at 3yrs 1mo. His nursery school teacher (who's pg) now refuses to change him because she says she hasn't been vaccinated! Is she sane? Can you get toxoplasmosis from humans? This is obviously hideously embarassing & those damned pampers are expensive, too. How can i get ds to use the potty? Can it be done? He's very stubborn.

Bumping for you.

Couldn't someone else at nursery change him?
Presumably she won't change any child's nappy, so someone else has to do them all?

One of mine I bribed with chocolate for every poo in the toilet (didn't work with the others, though).

That's just ridiculous, what about all the nappies pg women change as they already have children! Vaccinated against what fgs? She's just being paranoid, there was a pg woman looking after my ds before he was potty trained & she had no problem. I wouldn't let her force you into potty training before your ds is ready, it's not your problem it's the nursery's. You still have to clean a child's bottom if they're doing it on the potty, so what will the difference be? I would understand if they were putting pressure on you coz all the other children were potty trained etc (this was suggested to me as ds about to go up to pre-school) but she's just being silly & you've nothing to be embarrassed about. If it were me, I'd ask the nursery to sort it out with the member of staff.

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks ds' teacher has lost the plot. Actually, I think the smell may put her off. She looks about 3 mos "gone" so that would explain it. Still, they should never have accepted un-pottied children if she was going to have a problem with changing them. But then, she probably didn't know way back in June that she was pg...

I've tried the chocolate bribery ploy - didn't work. I've tried major irritation (you have to pull yourself together, my boy, & use the damn potty!), cajolling (Mummy will be so proud! please!), humour, shaming, bribery.
