Am hoping to teach our pipsqueak a bit of baby signing, just wondering if anyone's found any good ones? thanks!

You can buy the Sing and Sign DVDs from Amazon.

Sorry forgot to say they are pretty good. We went to the classes so I probably learned most of the signs from there then taught DD them at home by using signs day to day.

thanks a lot.

Sing and Sign are great - may be a bit old looking now though as I used them when 11 year old DD was a baby. She loved it, and by the time she was 16 months was a really good little signer. The website used to have some video clips as well, but the best way to learn is through the songs on the DVDs

Another vote for Sing and sign! There's a baby DVD, stage 2 DVD, and an Xmas DVD. I loved the classes and my 4yo still loves the DVDs. She started signing at 8 months and I'm sure it helped her feel less frustrated. We never had a 'tantrums' phase :)

Yeah they are a bit dated! DD loves them and misses the classes but as much as I enjoyed it four terms was enough!

Ordered =) thanks!

no chance of classes here, not UK based, so I hope the dvds will do the trick

You'd better get used to singing Jessie Cat Where are You all day and all night....

Enjoy! I am really glad I did signing with DD2 - she really loved it and there were far fewer frustration tantrums than with her older sibling, because I could understand what she wanted, so we could go straight to the tantrums where I said "no" to her standing by the cupboard signing "biscuit please"! (I was secretly delighted by the please!)

Meerka · 09/10/2014 13:43

well at least it cut the 'she doesnt understnad what i want!" tantrum out and only left the No tantrum!

I taught both mine from the sing and sign DVD, it's been amazing for communication.

Where oh where oh where is Jessie? That will be in your head on a loop. You have been warned Grin

It's a really sweet DVD, and a good path into Something Special - DD automatically signs with Mr Tumble because it's what she's used to. My friend is convinced I've got good talkers because of the baby signing. I don't know for sure, but it's certainly reduced tantrums, and DS at 15 months has tons of words.

We did sing and sign and had the dvds and DD loved it. She signed form about 9 months and it really helped with the knowing what she wanted thing!!¬

Sing and sign is fab - even after spending months with dd singing the "think I need the potty" song. She will use it just fine as long as someone sings to her...
