PUL pail liner or mesh bag

Hi

I learnt on here about using a wet bag type pail liner like this and now ive been reading up on it it seems that in America they all seem to use a pail liner made of PUL. But here in the UK Ive only ever heard of mesh bag liners.

The PUL pail liners seem to make a lot more sense as you can just lift it out of the nappy bin and dont even need to wash out the nappy bin before using again.

Apart from the relative high cost of a pail liner, is there something I'm missing? I can't get why this isn't a more popular option over here?

Thanks!

Maybe that when you buy a starter kit it comes with the mesh so you just accept it? The cost possibly but people do spend a lot on cloth.

It was me Grin I just stumbled on them because the lady who owns the shop Kingdom of Fluff that I linked to came to our Nappacino and I had a browse around her site.

I don't like either as you end up having to fish nappies out of them anyway, and it's easier just to take them out of the bucket.

lighteningmcmama · 15/10/2014 03:25

But then don't you have to fish all the nappies out of the bucket? With a liner maybe you just have to get 1 or 2 out if they're stuck, that seems easier to me. I have to see how it works in our new washing machine though, as I haven't done a nappy wash in it using a nappy bin liner. I didn't use a liner with dd1 when she was in cloth but with her the logistics were such that we used pound shop 3l lidded buckets and tipped them straight into the machine, but that only worked because they were small.

You put the pail liner in the waah as you would a mesh bag though so no you don't need to fish them out. I use pail liners and they are much less messy than a mesh bag.

I use mesh bags and just lift it out of the bucket with the nappies inside and throw the whole thing in yen washing machine. The nappies work their way out during the rinse cycle - no fishing required!

lighteningmcmama · 15/10/2014 22:08

yes thats how i thought they worked, i was just responding to Ninja's post about not using a liner at all.

someone suggested on another post the karrimor dry bags which are quite a bit cheaper than the kangabags so ive ordered a couple of those instead.

and actually ive changed my whole changing set up to another room now, so i don't need the lidded bucket at all, i am able to hang this bag up from a hook now!
