Back at work and sooooo tired!

Been back at work for 5 weeks. DS is 14 mo and settled really well at nursery which is a bonus. Currently working Mon - Wed 8am - 5pm. I drop DS at 7.30pm and pick him up at 5.30pm battling traffic as I go as DH has a long commute and can't fit in drop offs/pick ups in.

I'm just so exhausted and suffering with migraines because of it! Don't know if it's just the way it is now or whether I should change my working pattern to Mon, Tues and Thus instead. Might give me respite in between or just hope it gets better? Also find it hard to fit in/find energy for exercise so feeling unhealthy too!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I feel your pain. Back 5 weeks, have a 1.5hr commute each way. I work four days with Wednesdays off. DS has also been poorly and not sleeping well. Sharing the nursery run helps... I go to work early and leave early so I can do pick up. Nice to not do both. And the midweek break is good. I'm really ready for a day with DS by Wednesday.

It's so hard isn't it. Also 5 weeks in, and really struggling. I do drop off and pick up, work 8-5, mon- fri, then an hour or so when baby is in bed. Luckily DS has settled well into nursery and is eating and sleeping better (and finally taking a bottle so I could stop bfing).

Headaches and tiredness are normal- migraines sound awful (are they actually migraines, or really bad headaches). Either way, maybe a visit to GP might help. If you could make those easier, maybe that will help.

Sorry to hear you guys are the same but also nice to know I'm not the only one and therefore 'normal'! Had a chat with DH and he's going to try and do Mondays drop off which hopefully help a bit. Still unsure whether to change days though.

Sharing some of the nursery run definitely feels nicer in terms of workload, and I like that both DH and I get to experience it.
My ideal working pattern would be to do three days - mon, tues and thurs. Might be worth a go?

Only prob is that if I change my days it would be a permanent change due to nursery places. Hmmm hard to know if it's the best way!
