DD has just turned 2 we have had the potty out for a few months but on saturday she asked for it and we havent had any accidents since. She sits herself on when she wants to go and comes to find me or dh after she does poo and wee to ask you to wipe.

Now I wasnt expecting this to happen so quickly so unsure when we start the no nappy at night time, the last two mornings the nappy has been damp but not soaked.

Any ideas/thoughts much appreciated

Hi EPM
With my DD someone advised me that as soon as the nappy was off during the day to get the nappy off at night (this was only with a girl though) and somehow it worked!
I did invest in some bed mats that I put under the flat sheet just in case, but I think the same one stayed there for months as DD never once wet through. (and I probably forgot it was there)
I might have been lucky - but I am sure it worked with my friend too

I just waited until night time nappies were dry in the morning. My DD actually refused to go without a nighttime nappy for a number of months after dry -- could've been the arrival of DS however

But once she agreed to give it up, we had no problems. She didn't see the point of the potty until 3, gave up night nappies at 3.8

DD1 was out of nappies during the day at 22 months. But, the nighttime nappies were always soaked. We tried when she was 3 1/2 with no success (as we thought we ought to give it a go)and then at 3 3/4 she refused to wear nappies full stop (her best friend had stopped). Her nappies had started to be dry more often than not. We had lots of accidents (almost every other night), but that has gradually gone down. She's 4 tomorrow and we'll still have at least 1 accident a fortnight. Thats our experience. I don't know if that helps you make up your mind what to do.

One thing that has helped us though is putting a towel on top of the waterproof sheet. That helps to soak up any accidents and stops it running onto the floor.

Good luck if you decide to go for it.

I agree with Kharmellion, I was a bit clueless with my first 2 and left nappies off them at night when they were potty training. We never once had an accident! With dd2 I didn't do it at the same time, and it has taken ages.
