If they're anything like the nurseries my children went to they'll probably have whizzed one up for him by now and he'll be fine! (If they haven't he'll still be fine, he might even thank you for it in years to come )

FairyMum · 08/04/2004 11:18

Hmmmm.....you might as well start saving up for his therapy sessions straight away! No, I did the same but my DD was 5. She seems fine and 2 really is too young to care. Happy Easter!!

yankiegirl · 08/04/2004 11:22

Don't worry about it these things happen and if that is the worst thing...I agree with tamum DS will probably thank you in the future that he didn't have to wear a silly bonnet

Oh absolutely. But comfort yourself with the thought that, had you made him a lovely pretty bonnet and he later turns out to be gay, you'd be wondering forever whether it was because you'd dressed him up like a girl

probably

monkeygirl · 08/04/2004 11:46

I bet others have forgotten and even if they haven't most of those bonnets will be in the bin/under the table/flushed down the toilet in the first few minutes.

Nothing to worry about - are you off to Eurodisney??

My son who is two wouldn't care or even notice, frankly. This stuff actually pees me off a bit - it's for show - ie for the parents and for the nursery to look good and not really for the kids IMO.

Oh how romantic (well nearly!). When did you get married??

Have a lovely lovely time.

MeanBean · 08/04/2004 11:57

Totally agree with the last point. I am so fed up with all the stupid little things I have to do for school and clubs, like remember to fill a bloody smartie tube up with money by Easter and take it back. Do they really think I can junk my brain up with crap like that? Suffice it to say I forgot!

CheshireCat · 08/04/2004 12:01

quite tip from someone who used to live in Paris, and with frequent visits to disneyland, its very cold and exposed there, so wrap up warm!!

Just thinking about dd's easter parade - we made a hat and had loads of fun doing so but everyone else appears to have brought hats for their kids feel crap cos have not got the money for that. Anywaty think in balance it may have been better to have "forgotten " all about it. I think what we do as parents we always find a way to feel guilty. it's just cos we want the best for our children. Feeling slightly better now

Interesting one - ds1 is just visting a new nursery today as a "settling-in" process. He's been a couple of times and has got to know some of the other kids. As soon as we arrived today, the first thing one of the other boys pointed out "He hasn't brought a hat with him" - Ds1 won't be staying for the parade this afternoon, so not only did I not know about it, it is also a non-issue. The nanny immediately piped up "We'll have to make him one then". Ds1 is just 3 btw and is in a class of 2-3s.

So whilst he may have the fact pointed out, I'm sure that the staff will cope.

I once had to make an angel costume for dd, it reminded me how much i hate sewing, oh well labour of love, or thats what I told myself after jaming the sewing machine.

Just come back from garden centre, plants are soo expensive! DD and DS, at nursery,
