Cotbed mattress

We bought a cotbed for Dd1 before she was born and it's quite a fair size so it's been in her room ever since. But she is still in out room at the moment and we never got round to getting a matress for it. So, in a few months we will make the move and get her in her own room but my big question is foam mattress or springs?? Which did u but it prefer? It's so confusing!!! I want to get the mattress ASAP now so when she had her daytime naps she can be in there and get used to it.

I bought one from eBay brand new.
I think the important thing is ensuring it is a good fit in the cot frame.
Mine had springs and cost about £100 but I'm now using it in my son's junior bed.

Springs. I had foam for dc1 and springs for dc2, the springs seem far comfier.

I had a foam mattress for DD (cot) and a sprung one for DS (cotbed now being used as junior bed). Both were good but if you are planning to use the cotbed as a junior/toddler bed for a while, I would invest in a sprung mattress as I think they give better support to bigger children. The Cot Mattress Company has a very good selection at very good prices IMO. Both of my mattresses came from there and I was very pleased with them.

Springs maintain their shape, foam don't. DD wasn't a great sleeper so so bought a decent mattress which helped. Worth the investment I think!
