Hi,
We've just booked flights to New Zealand and will be travelling when my LO is 15 weeks. We'll be over there for about 3 weeks, staying with friends and travelling.
Just after any tips/advice on what to take with us, what not to forget in our hand luggage etc etc.
A friend reminded me I'll need to buy one of those pop up moses baskets for her to sleep in. Can't think what else we haven't thought of.
For the flight itself I'm mostly thinking lots of nappies, clothes, breast pads and muslins. Also big bottle of water to avoid dehydration...

Thanks in advance Grin

I went to Australia when DS was 10 weeks old and again at 10 months. The younger age was by far the easiest. Take whatever they normally sleep in- swaddle sleeping bag etc so they have familiar smells and feel. The plane noise helps them sleep and at that age also covers up any crying. Book a bassinette ASAP but also be prepared that they do spend a lot if times in your arms as they can't be in the bassinette when there is turbulence. Take another adult if at all possible. Take a sling and spare clothes for you and baby as some babies have explosive poos on a plane. Be kind and thoughtful to other passengers but don't get too worked up if ur little one can't be settled. Enjoy the trip.

Seconding reserving a bassinet seat for the flight. We did this for a transatlantic flight when DS was 6mo and found it useful to have the extra space of the bulkhead even though at that age DS didn't sleep in the bassinet.

Be prepared to take things slowly for the first few days. Jet lag is tough but jet lag while looking after a jet lagged baby is really hard!
