Ds ate pretty much everything when I puréed it when he was first weaned.

No he's really picky.

He will eat pretty much any fruit. He eats vegetables. Well peas, sweetcorn, carrots, broccoli when he feels like it. He liked salad most of the time. Lettuce, cucumber, celery, radish, tomato.

He eat scrambled egg once, enjoyed it that time but hasn't touched it since.

Used to eat chicken, now won't touch it unless it's in breadcrumbs.

Won't eat sandwiches, used to eat toast but not so much any more. Will eat brioche, garlic bread or plain finger rolls.

Used to eat new potatoes. Now only pototo waffles.

He likes Yoghurts. Used to like rice pudding. Not anymore.

Loves spaghetti with a bit of pasta sauce. Won't eat pasta spirals etc.

I know giving him chicken nuggets and fish fingers isn't helping but I want him to eat something.

Any suggestions?

He won't eat cheese unless melted on toast.

Look at the fruit and veg he eats. That's amazing!

Honestly, in terms of fussy eating you're doing really well. All toddlers go through a fussy stage, just keep offering food, but make sure their plate always contains something you know that they like.

It sounds like he does ok really and he may just choose to like the things he has quickly chosen not to like. I have a fussy DS he is 2 and won't touch fruit or vegetables, most other things are easy. I always give him some soup to get good nutrition into him as a starter then a selection of things for his main, some which I know he will eat some I know he probably won't. He always gets some of what we are having and then a few nibbles extra. If we are having something he likes (e.g chicken and rice) then I give him some of that with some veg on the side. If we are having something he is unlikely to eat, (e.g lasagne) I give him some small sausages and crusty bread on the side. Hopefully one day he will eat the veg and the lasagne so I give him the opportunity just don't stress about it.

You are not alone OP! My 12 mo dd has been fussy from the word go, weaning was a nightmare. She only reliably eats beige foods and the variety is dropping. 2 weeks ago she devoured a pile of peas and sweetcorn, now she won't touch it. Used to eat anything tomato based ie bolognese, ravioli but now looks at me like I am trying to poison her. She has always hated anything sweet including fruit. I try to offer a balanced diet but constantly worry that she isn't getting the nutrients that she needs. I try really hard not to stress and offer her food I know she probably won't touch alongside something she likes so I know she will eat something and in the hope that she might touch and like the unknown food. She sometimes surprises me, for example at a bbq the other day I gave her some of a sausage and she loved it and when we had fajitas she wouldn't touch the chicken and veg but adored the sour cream and guacamole! Macaroni cheese, cauliflower cheese, anything with cheese sauce goes down well generally. She also likes strong flavours like garlic and curry. I will follow this thread, I need some more ideas too!
