What's your pre-nursery morning routine?

DS is 14mo and around a month ago made the transition from formula to whole milk. He has 9oz first thing in the morning, however recently we've had the feeling he's hungry before we're ready to leave to take him for nursery.

He usually wakes up between half 6 and 7, we change his bum, dress him and he has his milk asap as he's usually starving! That's drained within a couple of minutes and we continue getting ourselves ready for work. We're usually out of the house around 740, 745 and he has breakfast at nursery around 8, 830.

He's started complaining within around 20 mins, half hour of his bottle (we think he's hungry, but admittedly it could be anything these days!) and can't wait to steal some of my shredded wheat puff thingies when I have them! So we're starting to wonder whether to give him something to eat before we leave.

I'm wondering if others give their children what will essentially be two breakfasts? What do you give them? And how do you fit everything in and still get to work on time?!

DS 4 and DD 16m wake around 630. On a work day we leave for the drop off run at 720, DD first then DS at school. DD has milk after getting up and dressed. Then breakfast at nursery. If for any reason we don't drop til after 8 she would usually have breakfast at home at 715-730ish and then second breakfast at nursery. She likes her food!

Just choose something not too messy so you don't have to change them, unmilked Cheerios are useful for this or dry shreddies.

DS is 20mo. He started nursery at 12mo and has 2 breakfasts every nursery day! He wakes up around 0630 gets nappy changed and dressed and then has 2 weetabix with milk at our table whilst I eat my breakfast. Then he has another bowl of cereal normally shreddies at nursery.

He doesn't have milk in the morning (or at all!) so I knew from the start I had to give him brekkie at home cos he couldn't possible leave the house on a totally empty stomach!

Yeah on the 3 nursery days a week my 2 yr old has 2 breakfasts and 2 evening meals (I offer him it anyway). In my defense nursery breakfast is toast at 9am I get him up at 6:30. Their dinner is 4:30 which is rediculous for us as we eat at 7pm! Works fine for us and it'd be unfair to eat without him.

My son used to have two breakfasts and two dinners as well. Now he can wait until nursery, although if he's especially hungry he'll have a Tupperware of dry Cheerios in the car. Breakfast can take a while as he's quite a piggy so the food in the car means we aren't always late.

DS is 11 mo and needs breakfast within 1/2 hour of waking really. Dropped the morning milk but he has a piece of toast and then yogurt or porridge at about 7-7.15, then get dressed and nursery at 8. You could try giving him a slice of toast to munch on?

Since he was 14 months DS wakes 6.30am, we get him up, dressed, change nappy then one of us goes and has breakfast with him while the other showers. He usually has whole milk, cereal and a piece of fruit. Drop off at CM at 8am. She then does school run and when they get back DS has a piece of toast about 9.30am.
