Just curious, if you had the choice to leave your DC while you go on a break in the UK, while he/she is looked after at home, would you leave them or would you miss them too much to even consider it?

Yup...I've been reading Mail Online again and it said that George had been left with his nanny for the last two weeks while Kate & Wills went to Norfolk to oversee renovations, but I'm genuinely curious...would anyone on MN who had access to a nanny do the same?

No. I doubt I'd even leave ds (3.9) unless I absolutely had to for some reason. I miss him when he stops at my parents overnight! I certainly wouldn't choose to, no.

Also, bare in mind a child with a full time nanny from birth should have a good relationship with them. Most children with a good relationship with nanny are equally happy to be left with either parent or nanny as they have almost 3 parents.

I imagine in George's case he roughly sees his nanny in equal proportion to his parents so I guess has this relationship ( bare in mind many children see nanny 90% of time and parents little)

The duke and duchess, both 32, had travelled on the scheduled train from King’s Lynn – a trip also made frequently by the Queen to keep costs down.

They have been in Norfolk for the past fortnight, overseeing the final stages of a £1.5million refurbishment of the hall.

A £4.5million renovation of their London apartment at Kensington Palace has recently been completed.

The French had the right idea.
