Scribbling away at my essay in Spanish and I want to put in a little side note about the Russian revolution, so how do you translate the October Revolution/Octoberist revolutionaries. Have a feeling its not going to be as simple as it sounds!

ok,wont pretend my spanish is very good, October is Octubre and revolution is revolucion, so maybe revolucion de Octubre....? Sorry not to be of any greater help!

Well those were my thoughts costa but a little part of my brain is nagging me and saying that Octoberist uprising cannot simply be transtlated as 'uprising of October' never mind, I shall just call it the revolution, its only a little side note afterall, the essay is on Scouting!

I think I'll pass Sandy! For the purposes of this essay the revolution only gets mentioned because afterwards the communists used Scouting principals to create the young pioneers! Not really on topic!

Hi am a Native spanish speaker and a historian, so i know a bit about the subject.
Is fine to call it either Revolucion Octubre
or Revolucion Bolchevique.
Naming it after the month it happened is a french custom but for this event also "La Gran Revolucion Socialista de Octubre" was the "official" name given by the russion goverment since 1927 for the 10th aniversary(translated into spanish here).
Originally it was known as el Alzamiento de Octubre or Alzamiento de los 25
Depending on how deep you are treating the subject any of this names can be apropiate.

and for octoberist revolutionaries REVOLUCIONARIOS OCTUBRISTAS or simply Octubristas is correct if you are mentioning something you already talked about you can omit revolucionarios and say @los Octubristas...... as the subject of a ne sentence or paragraph and thatwill be gramatically ansd semantically correct
