Just curious really. What are the 'norms' in countries you have been to/lived in or what is normal in the UK but seems odd to other countries.

Was just organising a holiday in the US and. (If I've read correctly) they don't really sterilise bottles

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

In Sweden they give babies and small children porridge in bottles.

Children play outside at nursery and school in all weathers be it torrential rain or -10 and snowing.

Where my husband is from, babies sleep with their mothers. This is normal in so many places. Wish it was normal in UK, maybe I wouldn't feel like I'm a shit parent because I do.

Of course you're not a shit parent. Co-sleeping is the norm in many countries, and lots of parents do it here too. They just don't talk about it. Wink

In Italy babies ears are pierced at birth. The Midwife does it.

Mintyy · 25/08/2014 22:14

Millions of people co-sleep in the UK.

Whosafraid is that actually true? (Are we talking every baby, as a matter of course?) Why?!
