really impressed so many of you are studying while being mums. I'm going to finish my degree at long last after 16yr break to have my 4 dc. they are now 16, 14, 11, 6 and i'm single mum but only part time for the youngest 2 cos me & exh are equal shareholders!! i start on monday doing combined studies ft, 4 modules each semester. Any tips for studying after long break? any tips on doing it without going mad? any encouragements to boost my confidence? good luck to all you going back after the summer break or starting anew.

I am studying for my law exams - passed conveyancing in October. Have a two year old DS. Study in the evening from home when DS gone to bed. Hope to qualify one day. I am enjoying it very much and good to know I still have a brain in their somewhere. Good luck with your studies

I only had a 2 year gap but be warned when you first go back it is a shock to the system and it takes a while for your brain to get back into gear and remember how to write essays, take notes etc. But it will come

Also you need to make time to do work - whether you do it in the evening or have set days without kids (if they are at school or whenever). Plan the time otherwise you won't get round to the work as there will always be something that needs doing.

Good luck and I'm sure it will be fine
