Would you put a 3 year old in a mid sleeper?

We were considering it but there's still growing room in his current bed so probably going to wait until we get a sibling for him. As long as they are sensible and sleep well, I can't see them falling out easily.

Ds2 got his mid sleeper at 3.5 at the same tkme as his older brother as we moved house. Never had any problems.

No, but there's a barrier. He's never fallen off the ladder, though his little brother has!

In fact ds1 falls out of normal beds without barriers.

The alarming thing is when they have friends round and they're all jumping and fighting on it....

DD had one from just turned 4, was always OK with it.

Yes - we did - we were moving house and I was pg so it was the ideal chance to give him a "big boy" bed and reclaim the cot for the new arrival .DS was not particularly co-ordinate but he never fell out.

I would have said yes, but it appears ds was falling out of bed more than we thought judging by how much better he is sleeping with a bed guard! So i might wait a while before turning his ikea bunk mid sleeper bed thing upside down. He's nearly three.

We put ours in a mid sleeper last month at 2.10. Well actually DH set it up without consulting me and I was apprehensive but it hasn't been a problem at all. She gets in and out easily and the bed rail is there anyways.

She absolutely loves it and it means extra storage space under the bed.

DD1 had one with a slide for her third birthday. Never any problem, but she was the sort of child who learnt to climb before she could walk!

Yes. We had full bunk beds at 3 as, at the time, it was the only way of fitting them all in the house!

DS's midsleeper (from aspace) has a guardrail built in (with a gap where the ladder is) so you would have to work quite hard on falling out. When he was in his cotbed I would find him happily asleep with his legs on the floor and his top half on the bed .

Yes my DD went into a mid sleeper at 2.5. She's never fallen out because there's a rail all the way round it. But she falls out of normal beds because she's used to the rail being there.

I wouldn't put DD (3.1) in one as she often gets out of bed and wanders around half asleep or tries to look for me in the night. She wouldn't fall out as such and would be fine getting in and out when wide awake but just last night she ended up crying in the corner of her room because she'd got up and walked there without really knowing she'd done it. It's a shame as a mid sleeper would solve a lot of our space issues.

Does it cause issues if they are potty training and trying to get out of bed half asleep?
