Regression/accidents getting worse in potty trained toddler

Ds is 2.8 and had been dry in the day for quite a while (started potty training at 2.4 months). He was just starting to get poos cracked. But..... recently he is having at least one wee accident a day plus a poo accident. We really don't know what to do about it. I'm finding really hard not to tell him off now and have done on occasion. Tbh this evening I completely lost the plot with him. I know this isn't the right thing to do but can anyone shed any light on what is going on? I'm finding this really frustrating.

Anything else going on right now? Our DS (3.8)lost the plot completely whilst we were on holiday and we had to revert to making sure the potty was always next to him and reminding him frequently. It settled down after a couple of weeks.

Yes, I've gone back to work (but... that shouldn't really have affected him as he was going to nursery 3 days a week the whole time I was off with dd anyway). Other things - me and dh have gone through a rough patch and ds won't sleep in the afternoons anymore even though he really still needs to. So yes there is stuff going on. I'm struggling with clearing him up now though as finding it so frustrating and I was so good about not letting him see that to start with.

It sounds like you have a lot on - I would probably explain to him calmly (and NOT immediately after another 'saccident') that its making a lot of work for Mummy and that if he's wet/dirty again he will have to go back into nappies for a while. Make clear its not a punishment, but just to help you out for a while......
anyone else any other ideas?
