When did you notice your baby was actually a toddler?

Just that really. I went to a tinytalk baby class on Friday, filled with gorgeous squishy babies sat on the mat. Looked at my 1 year old DS busily rummaging away in a toy bag and realised he was twice as active, with the proportions of a toddler. Felt rather dumb for not noticing before!

When did you realise?

This is what she does now.

When my second was born and I brought him home and my first - then 15 months old - ran over to look at this lovely new toy mummy had brought him Grin

He suddenly looked MASSIVE!

Duchesse - 5.5 months? Your childis advanced!!

springbabydays · 15/07/2014 23:10

sigh this may be happening now to ds, he's confidently walking, so no doubt the days of thigh squidge are numbered I cannot bear it!

duchesse · 16/07/2014 10:58

It's not advanced, it's annoying. They're only babies (ie helpless and biddable) for about a fortnight before they develop their own ideas about things.

Clutterbugsmum · 16/07/2014 11:34

I agree Duchesse my 3 were the same infact when ds was about 10/12 weeks he used to move around the room using the back of his head to push himself along/around the room.

I too have heard about these babies which stay where you leave for months, neither had one myself.

BooseysMom · 17/07/2014 10:36

When do they lose their fontanelle? I think that might signal the end of babyhood. I had a minor panic attack when I thought my DS had lost his at only 5 months!! He's still got it now though but it is less noticeable and he's 8 months. I will have to try for a 2nd one when he's a toddler as I know I'll miss the baby months way too much!

springbabydays · 17/07/2014 11:19

Age two I think. Ds is 16 months and I can still just about feel his.

TheABC · 17/07/2014 22:41

I found I could get mine to stay put with Velcro tabs. Playing with them, rather than fastening him to them (it was considered). DS still has a little thigh squidge, but he started walking this evening. It's days are numbered
