nappies from newborn - liner or not

I used cloth nappies with my DS from around 6 months old and started with liners straight away.
Since I have all the nappies (btp type) I want to save some money and try to use when new baby arrives, if not newborn then a couple of weeks old.
Do I need to use a liner for newborn poo? Or just dunk and flush in loo then dry pail (I always dry pailed before).
Thanks!

A fleece liner is worth it for the dryness they give but, IME, paper liners are useless before wearing.

Oh, am talking BF poo though - no idea on FF poo.

Thanks MrsLettuce, I bf DS so fingers crossed I will be able to bf again. I have fleece liners so will try them with new baby then maybe move onto the paper I have left from DS...fingers crossed it all works out like that though Smile

I think I phased them in pretty quickly out of shock at the sheer number of nappies newborns get though! Was just as surprised about that with DC2 as I had been the first time Hmm It's hard to remember TBH, maybe after the first few days even, it was certainly earlier than I'd though I'd do it.

First week or two you can chuck the whole lot in the machine and let the machine do the work..
