I am so tired . She has been awake since 630 on probably two hours sleep since then. Nothing is working we have tried calpol nurofen ambasol and teetha powder. She screams and screams if I try to put her down. Currently for recorded Mr Tumble on as this is the only thing that seems to keep her a bit calm . She only has 4 teeth now and these all came through before she was a year - I can't remember them being as bad as this?! She is incredibly snotty and dribbly. Have tried olbas oil in her room as I don't know if it's the snottiness or tooth pain stopping her sleeping? Someone please tell
Me she will sleep soon . I am sitting here cuddling her just in tears I am so tired I don't know how I am going to get through the rest if the night and tomorrow if she won't sleep. I am trying so hard to stay calm but am beginning to loose patience and that scares me.

Are you on your own with her? Or do have another half you can wake?

missbluebird · 10/07/2014 02:18

I was going to say that even if you other half has work etc tomorrow now is the time for him to help out. Even half an hour helps with the sanity on days like this.

It will end and she will sleep eventual and so will you.

What is your fail safe? Ours is walking and even though it was late tonight DH walked teething DS to sleep as it was pointless trying anything else. Keep going with me tumble and the medication. It might take a few doses to numb the pain. You got anything you can directly rub onto the gums as well as the calpol and ibuprofen?

iheartshoes · 10/07/2014 02:18

I do but he has work tomorrow so it's up to me. Just out her back in cot and she's murmuring but not screaming so I am really hoping tiredness will just take over now and she will get just a couple of hours.

Sorry crossed post. I only wake my DH if absolutely necessary when he has work and tonight might be your night to do that.

So pleased she is looking like getting a bit of sleep. Get to bed quick!

iheartshoes · 10/07/2014 02:21

Thank you bluebird if she is still up at five I'm
going to wake him then so I can at least get couple if hours before he leaves for work. Driving her around usually helps but I don't know if that's the best idea while I am so tired. We have ambasol but it doesn't seem to be doing that much. I hope your DS is ok I really think we must have had it easy with the teething before as I do not remember it bring this bad

You poor, poor thing, so sorry. The exhaustion is like torture. Do whatever you have to do to get through the night. If to have a partner, get him to help. Try sitting in a chair with the little one and cuddling, get a blanket and pillow to make yourselves comfy and safe. Try lying on the floor, throw some bedding down again to get more comfy. She just wants to be held so holding is what you should do. Play videos to distract from any pain. TV/videos have been a lifesaver for me.

If she is still like this in the morning maybe get her checked for an earache? Give her more calpol/ibuprofen when the next dose is due.
Again I'm really sorry. Oh and if you have an iPad or tablet just stream YouTube on it, waybuloo, etc something calming. Take a deep breath and hang in there.

Wishfulmakeupping · 10/07/2014 02:54

Really hope she drops off soon and you can get some rest. I wouldn't second getting her ears checked first thing too

GinAndFrolic · 10/07/2014 03:17

I mentioned possible earache because my little one was exactly like this one night, similar age. He had a cold two weeks previously and had seemed better. But I got him checked and sure enough it was an ear infection. I hope it's just teething though. Hope you are all sleeping as I write this. Take care

trilbydoll · 10/07/2014 07:19

Sometimes DD gets totally worked up st bedtime and I think she forgets why she is screaming, she just wants out of the cot. It usually helps if we swap over, a different person seems to reset her and she settles a bit quicker. Might be worth a try if there is a next time.

iheartshoes · 10/07/2014 08:27

Thank you so much for all your kind words I feel very silly now like I completely overreacted but I am horrible when tired. She eventually went down 3-730 so better than nothing. She us not crying this morning but still incredibly sniffy and snotty still. She's had her milk nicely though which I hope is a good sign. I am calling the doctors when they open to get them to check it's not an infection.

Molars?
They were so much worse than the front teeth I didn't know what hit us. Non stop screaming day and night for a week.
I was convinced of infection but no, molars.
