Is it worth using cloth nappies second time around?

I used cloth nappies with my eldest, and got on well with them for the most part, though had periods of using disposable nappies too.

I sold them all on as we had such a large gap between babies we wernt sure we could or would have more.

Now I'm 30 weeks with DC 2 and don't know whether to go there again or just go for disposables. I would use disposable wipes again.

Can anyone recommend some cheap but reliae nappies, ideally birth to potty

Thanks x

If you buy second hand it is worth it, plus not forgetting your resale value-if you sell in the right places you can get a decent price back. Also get your council's nappy voucher for money off if they do it.

Re brands I can't comment, we used bamboozle at home and easyfits while out but every one is different. Also like u I used and will use for dc3 cloth part time-so day time only, and not while on holiday or dealing with teething poos!

I swear by Little Lambs. They often have great offers on their birth to potty nappies, I think Fill Your Pants has the 10 for £50 offer at the moment which is really reasonable. They also do lovely sized pocket nappies and sized bamboo, which are my absolute favourite nappy although they take an age to dry.

Definitely worth it IMO, especially if you check out cheaper options.

I am using cloth for the first time with DC2 and love it. I only spent about 150 pounds all in.

My favourite nappies are terry squares with motherease airflow wraps. They are a bit bulky but never ever leak, even with breastfed poo. They also dry quickly. You can also buy a pack of twelve nappies for 20 pounds from the nappy lady and the motherease wraps are about 10 pounds each, so you can buy all your nappies and wraps for 80 quid. You need nappy nippas too, and perhaps muslin squares for the tiny newborn stage when the terries might be too big.

I also use LL one size pocket nappies which are very cute and great value. They do tend to leak if left on too long though in my experience and I find stuffing them more hassle than folding a terry nappy.

Forgot to say, motherease wraps last forever, so you could definitely buy these second hand.

I would. Look at the Wonderoos v3. Not cheapest but great and work well overnight. So even if you just brought say 5 you can use overnight at least saving 1-2 nappies a day
