Teddy in baby's cot?

Do you (or did you) give your baby a teddy in their cot?

My ds is 7 months now and up until recently used to fall asleep drinking his bottle and DH would just transfer him to cot.

However, for some reason this no longer works as ds wakes as soon as he's put down or shortly after and gets upset as he isn't where he was when he fell asleep.

So tonight, he had milk a bit earlier then I put him in his cot and read him a story and then left him cuddling his eeyore teddy.

He was happy with eeyore but is it ok to leave eeyore in the cot all night?

Sorry if this sounds daft - I'm majorly paranoid!!!

I take teddy out when he's asleep but I'm a bit paranoid too. And our little boy is 18 months! I'm sure plenty will say its fine but if it's going to keep you awake worrying then just take him out.

Yes totally fine. Dd had a Jellycat Mouse from about five months and at two and a half he still gets dragged rpund everywhere and took to bed. Thankfully she is fine when we wash him!

So long as eeyore isn't big enough to wrap around his head or neck then should be fine. At 7m they can easily roll away if they need to. Dd has had several in since a similar age, all baby safe and smallish.

Thanks everyone Smile

He's asleep now so we've put the eeyore further down his cot Smile

DDs teddies always sat at the other end. No problem whatsoever. They are 19 and unharmed! Same teddies still live on their beds!

We put in hard toys like a rattle, small teether etc until ds was a confident roller since then he has had a teddy.
