Always trust your judgement: bedtime fail

Blimey I really need to work on this parenting.
I'd had a good day with ds (16mo) who is off nursery with dodgy nappies but is otherwise fine (and by fine I mean still as lively as ever). I'd only shouted at him once which is frankly a miracle. During a nappy change of aforementioned dodgy nappies so I think it was justified.
And then I failed. He facetimed with dh and he started moaning. DH, thinking he was being helpful told ds to go upstairs to clean his teeth. Instead of saying "no DH, DS isn't ready to go to bed he needs to do more running around" I went with it albeit with bad grace.
The consequence: DS is still awake 2.5 hrs later and I've had to go up twice and read even more Thomas stories! Oh and try the dummy that he is almost off.
I just wish I had the confidence to trust my own judgement and instincts.

I think you may need some help if you are regularly shouting at your 16m old baby, such that it's a miracle it's only once today. Sad

Parenting is v hard and if you're not coping please ask your HV for help. If the above scenario had been with a 3/4 yr old I'd have had sympathy but really you're expecting far far too much at 16m.

Aw, chin up Wheels Smile. I'm still making it up learning as I go, and DS is nearly 4 Grin.
