I've had my baby; is my body still public property?

Well that might be an exaggeration but I'm upset! Had my first post baby volunteering shift today; leaving my 3month old DS with DP for bath&bedtime. After 3hrs I was ready to go home, another lady came to take over - recognising it's my first shift back she asks "how's things?" then immediately "still got a bit to loose then" whilst pointing at my belly! Hmm I know I should laugh at the sheer rudeness of people and know that postpartum not quite fitting into my size 10 jeans doesn't make me obese but I'm genuinely quite upset - is this it from now on? I'm a mum so fair game? Feeling very frustrated that at my first attempt back into my world as it was before I became a mum someone instantly reminds me that I have changed and I'm not shaping up.....

Only a totally, socially incompetent idiot would feel the need to tell someone with a 3 month old baby they still had a bit to lose. You've done something absolutely amazing producing a baby, a whole new person, it does leave marks on your body but it's worth it.

Fitting back into your jeans is possible, changing from a rude jerk into a nice person, perhaps not so much!

Tell her to fuck off or burst into tears or both.
Plus there's always the 'I have a baby belly because I've had a baby, but it will go in time. You on the other hand will always be a dick'

That was rude of the lady. Either she doesn't have any kids of her own or she was one of the lucky ones that didn't had a post baby belly..

My DS is 9 month old (miracle baby) and now I'm 23 weeks pregnant with DC2 and when I met someone during shopping she asked how I was doing and I told her that I have a son and expecting dc2. And she looked at me and said "oh I thought that was still a baby belly from your son" (I have quite a bump already which clearly does not look like post baby belly.. When I was pregnant with DS when she came to my work (I worked as an insurance broker) and said "wow you gained a lot of weight" "well that is because I'm pregnant".. Was my response. Some people can not hold their tongue..
