just that really! I'm interested to know how other mums get through the day, with the beginings of weaning and becoming more mobile. what activities do you go to/do at home?

Mine is 6.5months

Up at 6am. Breastfeed (Bf)
Breakfast 7.30am
Nap 9am 30mins
Bf
Lunch 11.30
Nap 12.30 ish 30 mins
Bf
Nap 3.30ish 30 mins
Dinner 5pm
Bath 6pm
Bf then bed
Asleep by 7pm
Maybe 1 or 2 bf during night

In between feeds / naps - try to keep baby entertained and house somewhat clean....

For what it's worth my routine with dd is:
6am dd wakes up, feeds and we bring her in our bed for morning cuddles
7-8am first nap
8am feeds, then playtime
9am porridge for brekkie, then playtime
10.30am feed and nap
12pm feed and playtime
2pm baby group
3pm feed and nap
4pm wake up and play
4.30pm feed
6pm bedtime routine, feed, sleep
7pm dd asleep and glass of wine for me!

I am still figuring out feeds and weaning and how to work these. Dd is a bit of a snack feeder and just has 2-3oz at every feed. I'd like to stretch her out between the feeds with starting weaning too. We have baby groups in the mornings / afternoons on 2 days of the week, sometimes walk to the park or take her shopping while she snoozes Smile

She has gone from having 4 naps to 3 random daytime naps now.

We do get out of the house each day. But lots of time playing, baby particularly likes songs with actions at the moment. And noisy toys.

We have a veeeery flexible routine:
Wake up somewhere between 7 and 9, small BF.
Often DP will get up with her and keep her entertained while I catch an extra hour's sleep (if its been a bad night)
Sometimes she will have some fruit and yogurt while I am having my breakfast, but not if we are in a rush to get somewhere.
Playing/rolling about while I get showered/dressed etc
Another big feed a couple of hours after getting up: nap, either on my lap or I pop her in buggy and go out.
We go to baby group/coffee morning a few mornings a week, I BF as and when she needs while out.
Normally she will conk out at lunchtime (1ish) often for a longer nap.
She'll often have a bit of what I am having for lunch, or I will take some bits out with me for her.
Playing in afternoon, there'll be another nap somewhere along the way, often about 6ish.
She'll have a proper tea, either with us if we are eating early, or before we eat. Tonight was some cold risotto and fruit for dessert.
She will immediately need a bath as will be covered in food.
Story, or sit and watch us eat then story
BF to sleep about 9-9.30 pm (I'd love her to go earlier but she's having none of it).
She's currently waking a few times to feed in the night.

7/7:30am DS wakes, bottle and breakfast
Play, both get dressed, I have a coffee.
9-10am morning nap
Park/swimming/sensory room/meet friends, have & give him lunch at 12.
Home for lunchtime nap 1-3pm. Quick clean of kitchen and chill out.
Afternoon see family, play.
Dinner at 5pm
Play/bath/story bed at 6:30/7pm
And relax...... :-)

cartoontrickster · 28/06/2014 12:18

phew similar to us then Smile
what games do you play with dc at home? I'm panicing I'm not doing things I should be!
ds is formula feed. at the moment
ds wakes between 6-7.30
I feed him in bed, but its getting awkward now we've started weaning so he also has porridge.
30-40min later I put him back in his cot while I get showered etc he usually falls asleep for around an hour so gives me plenty of time to get ready maybe have breakfast or do a couple of small chores.
once he wakes we usually go to some sort of baby group/meet mummy friends, we currently have something we could go to every morning.
then pur afternoon is just gp with the flow!
maybe shopping, sometimes meet friends relax at home/do house work. he naps randomly, if we are at home I just hold him while he sleeps. he feeds every 3/4 hours.
bath bottle bed at 8pm asleep by 9pm.

I think we all panic that other people are doing things we aren't!
In terms of games, we do -
Rolling round on the floor surrounded by toys (I switch the toys so she has 'new' ones every day)
Reading books - it surprised me how early babies enjoy books but she loves them.
Physical games - pretending to ride a horse on my leg, 'flying', row row row the boat etc
Singing songs
Putting music on and doing silly dances while she laughs at me...
I'd love more ideas though.

DirtyDancing · 28/06/2014 14:30

What's in the box is quite a good one. Old shoe box, pop in few toys, spoon from the kitchen, scaf.. Whatever they might find interesting. Pop in front & help them explore. Take off lid, pull out content talk to them about it.

We just got a wooden farm animal jigsaw. Fun doing the noises, DS thinks pig oink oink very funny! ;)

DirtyDancing · 28/06/2014 14:31

Also kitchen utensils. The more noisy the better!

RedRobin1 · 28/06/2014 16:43

Yes we have the sensory box (rummaged around the house to find some bizarre bits and bobs...dd loves a bath sponge I got from boots)

Also on playmat surrounded by toys and rolling around, reading touchy feely books, putting music channel on and dancing, take her in the garden while I hang the laundry out and she just watches or chews on her teether and looks amused when birds fly past Smile

cartoontrickster · 28/06/2014 20:44

oh I like the what's in the box idea!
I take him around the house with me while I do bits and pieces - he was quite amused the other day at me changing the bed sheets.
rolling around on his play mat with some toys.
I pull funny faces and make stupid noises for him to laugh at.
I do read to him but sometimes I find a week or so has gone by since we last had a story. I'm wondering whether to start a regular pre bath story time.
I pretty much never have music on at home perhaps I should start.
