My DS1 has been going to nursery 3 days a week since he was 6 months old and he's now 2.5 yrs.

We've just moved house and he starts at his school in their nursery in January but we had to move prematurely. So the question is should we put him in another nusery for a term or just give it a break until January?

I've found a great nursery walking distance from our house who say they could take him for this term and it would just be three mornings.

My parents think we should keep up the routine of nursery even if he has to settle in two different nurseries in four months. I think this might be a bit much along with the house move and a new brother. What d'ya think?

I was in exactly the same situation in January this year. I tried to put her into creche until she started preschool but due to house move, new brother etc, she didn't settle. I didn't push it and kept her at home until she started Preschool. No problems at preschool, now can't get enough of it. Good luck

I think a house move and a new brother is quite enough for a 2 yr old to deal with. I speak as someone who moved house 4 times in 5 years, the third time was with 2 yearold and new baby. My ds1 was 18 months the first time we moved. He got very clingy and insecure for a while and I didn't blame him - I was feeling a bit clingy and insecure myself. However, that's just my opinion - you know your own child best, but I would trust your gut instinct.

Thanks for the responses. DS1 is quite outgoing but at the same time he's only 2.5 and still clings to us when being dropped off at nursery.
