Hi ladies ,

Quick question ...

I'm thinking about breastfeeding , however is there any techniques to do it in public as I can imagine having to take my bra off very annoying and can wear the bras straps very easily , i.e. make them very Slack with having to take then out?

Are there any alternatives to this or do you just have to deal with it?

Thank you , I appreciate all the advice and help I can get

Hi ladies!

Loving all the tips.
I've had a look online for nursing bras but they all look quite dowdy( excuse the spelling)
I am only young and wondered if there was anywhere people know to get pretty nursing bras? The last thing I want is to feel a bit bleugh and then have to put an old looking bra on . I want to feel good about wearing nice underwear .
Does any one else feel like this or struggled to get pretty bras at an affordable price?

Lauren xx

Look at Hot Milk nursing bras. They are 'sexy' however I found them rather uncomfortable and sent them back. Don't forget to get measured/buy them only a few weeks before you're due.

I hated nursing bras. I need a serious amount of support and my albeit pretty bravissimo size j Shock just wasn't up to the job. I'm fairly tiny everywhere else so wearing baggy tops to hide my under supported and massive norks was miserable. I never wore baggy tops before and hated not feeling like 'me'.
Suck up a horrid but comfy nursing bra until you're boobs have been a similar size for a week or so and then after being measured buy converter kits and as many pretty bras as you like.
And, feeding does end. At the time I thought I was doomed to look awful forever but no. It passes. And when it does you wonder where it went as actually it's only a very small portion of your life, but you're so caught up and consumed with it all at the time it seems never ending.
Here was my timescale:
Week 1. Wore no bra. Stayed in bed topless snuggling dd.
week 2. Begged mum in tears to please get me something to sling them up with as milk was in and i was limping round holding them up.
week 3. Not hideous looking in themselves but not my usual hoiking up to my chin wonderbras were on.
Week 8. Different size nursing bra.
week 12. Things settled down. Bought my beloved wonderbra and a converter kit.
15 months later. Finished breastfeeding. Stuffed cabbage leaves down my bra and walked about looking like a porn star with rock hard silicone looking norks and ripping off DH's head of he came anywhere near them. It lasted two weeks.

And not everyone feels awful. That was just me. I'm super sensitive about mine. My friend who's tiny up top walked about showing her newly inflated fun balloons off all the time. She was gutted that it didn't last!

I didn't buy any nursing bras. I just pull at my bra and fold the cup under my breast.

Hi ,

Smudgesmummy ,

I've had a look at hot milk , there are quite expensive ?
What was it that was uncomfortable about them?

I bought two Hot Milk ones in sales. I've also got two Bravado ones, and they're quite nice. Honestly, the hot milk ones have been a great investment.

I bought them for about £25 each, but realising how much I've worn them and how useful they are (and how nice it is to wear a pretty bra), I'd really recommend them.

I used nursing tops during the winter, again I bought a couple and wore them a lot. There are some good online shops around, and not all of them are horribly expensive (although many are).

Try EBay if you want a bargain, but you won't know what size to buy until you are very late in pregnancy, or even until after the baby is born.
