Why do DS nappies keep leaking ?

We used Kiddicares Just For Bums on DD the whole time and they were totally fine. DS is just leaking everywhere every day though.
He is 6 months and is in size 5 (although he is still well within the weight size for wearing size 4).
I put him in the bigger size nappy as they don't do a size 4+ but i have changed hjm 3 times overnight due to wee. He has also had 2 poo explosions today.
DH said maybe he bas more force than DD did Grin.
I just do not understand why he is leaking all the time yet at 6 months he is in the same size nappies his Sister was wearing at 2 years old !
Any suggestions welcome. I looked at the other brands but you only seem to get a much smaller amount for nearly the same price.

This won't be what you want to hear but different babies suit different nappies.

I have tried Huggies, asda, boots & many more on my DS but the only ones that don't leak are pampers active fit. So I just have to watch for special offers and bulk but when I see a good deal.

Ds1 was a drencher.

We never managed to find a nappy that would keep ds dry at night. In the morning everything would be soaked.

Try different brands. Make sure you are pointing Percy down and taping tight. All the usual tricks. But they might not work.

Disposables have different shapes, elastic and absorption so what suits one may not suit another unfortunately. It may just be a case of playing around with different brands until you find something that works.

We use cloth full time and rarely have leakages but I know that's not for everyone. I do however have a friend who uses disposables with a bamboo booster and a nappy wrap at night as her little man soaks through everything.

Hmm thanks ladies, maybe i will try active fit, they all just seem so expensive in comparison.
We did try reusables for DD but they seemed really bulky.

Try Little Angels Baby Dry first, dd only ever had pampers Baby Dry as she soaked through everything until I tried Asda and they were great. And cheap.

Size 5 seems awfully big for a 6 month old, I'd have thought they would be too loose around the legs. Have you tried smaller in a different brand?

i double nappy at night. first one on right way and second one backwards. works every night if i forget he is soaked through

I really recommend a reusable for at night. The new Wonderoos v3 look great, and everyone recommends for night time as 6 layers of bamboo. About £14 each but no extra boosters/ wraps needed so maybe try buying one and testing. And if works get another so you can have one on and one in wash for nights

Maybe I miscalculated it but when I looked at the Kiddicare nappies I thought they were really expensive. We use Sainsburys, they are almost always on offer and works out to just over 10p a nappy.

Never had any problems despite DD leaking from pretty much every super absorbent reuseable I have ever tried! Agree that size 5 sounds like it might be too big.
