It is better to use a highchair for feeding, the reclined position of a bouncer is not ideal for feeding, the baby should be sitting upright to make @ straight down the throat pathway and reduce choking risks.

Bouncers are too hard to clean, you want something you can sluice when you start feeding! We got ours at about 5 months in preparation, and DD sits in it watching us cook and playing with toys.

As katandkits says he needs to be sitting upright for less risk of choking.

If he's eating he should be in a high chair

If he can't sit up yet then he shouldn't be eating yet.

We used a bouncer initially, and also sat DD on our knees occasionally. When we finally got a high chair, I wondered why I hadn't got one from the start!

Recommend the Ikea Antilop. It's super-practical, and for £16 there's no reason to hold off.

High chairs are brilliant for more than just eating, means your little one is the right height to sit with you at the table and do colouring, or bang things while you cook in the kitchen.

I fed ds in his bouncer until he turned 7 months, but would sit him in his high chair for finger food. Hes now having all his meals in the high chair-he's able to sit up straighter in it
