Just wondering if anyone has been to them and how young was your baby at the time?

I booked on some starting June 16th but haven't had my baby yet so it might be pretty early for me to feel ready to be going out to classes??

Thanks!

That may be a bit early, but I guess it depends on how the course is advertise d on your region. Where I did it it was for about one month post birth.

It is quite early as they are 2 hour sessions & you have to feel comfortable feeding, changing and handling your baby for 2 hours whilst you are out in public, with others you don't know etc. My DS was 3 months. Having said that they are of course v baby friendly- mine had a play mat in the middle of the room, baby changing facilities etc. personally I think at around 2/3 months you night get the most out if it

Honestly within a few weeks you really will know what you are doing and won't need this - nice to meet people etc but you can do that at a babygroup - what do they cover that you won't know?? I was terrified coming how but honestly it is all hardwired into our brains and you will just instinctively know what to do - and stuff that takes time and practice (like getting them into babygrows and nappies) just takes a bit of practice. I hope you don't have to pay for these - or can you reserve a place and only pay if you still want to go? Not being mean I just want to say you will be a great mummy and you won't need it Smile

I did the NCT postnatal course and it was great for getting me out of the house and it was nice to have other mums to chat to about the whole being a new mum experience.

But I didn't learn anything amazing and my group was very dominated by a group of 6 mums who had booked on together from their antenatal group - they were very cliquey and really excluded the other 3 of us who had babies different ages.
I think Tom was about 8 or 9 weeks old when I went on it.
