Just had possibly the most scary moment ever :(

I have a 17 week old DD, and at six o clock this morning, stopped breathing long enough for her sensor pad to go off.

I jumped out of bed and shouted her name, very unresponsive even when I blew into her face. She did start breathing and was obviously very unimpressed with her mummy screaming and blowing in her face.

Have had a good cry and have just about stopped shaking :(

Dr is going to check her out because, since yesterday she has been having episodes where she just stops what she's doing and stares into space for a minute or so. He doesn't think they are connected but cannot give me a definitive answer yet.

I don't know why I'm posting....just needed to get it out :( :(

I'm in Canada so am 5 hours behind. Will be around until 4am-ish if you want/need to talk.

I cannot imagine how scary this must be for you. Flowers

Thinking of you, my ds was very prem and did that alot, its horrible, you dont sleep properly unless someone else is watching them. I second the respisense monitor its fab. You can use that when they are in the bouncy chair, the buggy even a baby sling.
My worst experience was when it went off while shopping, scared everyone in the que as I had to whip him out if his phil n teds pizza box and flick his feet. We switched to a side by side double then to make him more accessable.
If it helps hes nearly 4 now and a bundle of trouble, you will get there x

What an awful experience for you both

You are in the right place for investigations in to whatever is causing it

Whilst you might not want to sleep, you should try to close your eyes and relax.

Thinking of you

How scary for you. As everyone says you're in the best possible place. Hope you managed to get some rest.
