After 2.4 years, I am thoroughly sick of cloth nappies - help!

I have always been a cloth nappy addict! I loved using them, and hated disposables. But now my dd is 2.4, not yet ready for potty training and I'm so sick of cloth. Sick of the washing, the smell, trying to put the damn things on when she won't lie down. I am at the moment using about 50-50 cloth and disposables. And hating myself for it. Disposables are SO yucky, but so much easier to put on.

Any advice?? Anyone else feel the same, it always seems as though cloth users LOVE cloth and never go back

I use (and have used from dd 3 months old) nipper fastening tots bots and motherease wraps. I can't afford to buy a whole new nappy system. Aaargh.

how about selling your Tots and going for a pull-up style (eg Minki Yoyo)?

I hadn't thought of selling them actually. But had hoped to keep them for my (theoretical) next child. Something to think about though, thanks.

OK, so don't sell them, but spend some money on a few pull-up cloth nappies (you could buy them 2nd hand) and stop throwing money into the dustbin with your disposables

Don't torture yourself if you're using half and half.

You've still done really well in terms of the environment and have probably saved lots of money too.

I think they do get yuckier as the LOs get bigger. Potty training might click in a few months time, so hopefully you're nearly there!

"stop throwing money into the dustbin with your disposables" LOL Good point!!

It is a bit harder for me to buy and sell as I'm in Switzerland. Not so much demand for cloth here. But I am definitely going to look into this. I have rainbow bots, so they are very badly faded and may not sell well, BUT it would be lovely to have brand new nappies. I am very tempted!

Can you sew (or do you know someone who can)? You could add some velcro to the tots bots? (wouldn't be able to pass them on to a small baby though)

I would go with the pull up idea too - how about nappy lady classifieds, as long as you were prepared to pay the extra postage, it is normally cheaper than ebay?

I sympathise nappies of any variety can be a pain if it's not washing it's having to rush to the shops to buy disps or trying to find somewhere to store those giant boxes that they seem to come in now.
I reckon you need a new injection of life into your cloth wardrobe and should buy one or two really cute nappies with poppers at the side for standing up changes, like poochies or more boringly Sandys.
Or a few pocket nappies, very quick to change.
Or go for nudeybums and a pottyseat for a while a day and see what happens. At the very least you would have fewer changes and less washing.

Lol - was just about to google "nudeybums", thinking it was a new nappy, then it clicked! .

Yes, bottoms with nothing on!
I'm not sure if that's a good name for a nappy.
