Confused about the new £20 CSA charge for Resident Parents

I'm confused about the new CSA changes.

My children's absent father currently has £5 a week very reluctantly deducted from his dole (despite earning thousands on eBay every month Hmm which he doesn't declare).

But now the CSA is disbanded/rebranded whatever it is, will I continue to receive that, or do I have to pay the £20 fee as it seems to suggest to 're-open' the case, along with the 4percent deduction from the payment for fees?

There is no possibility he will agree to a private arrangement with me, as his attitude is that 'the taxpayers can support the children' as I have claimed benefits since they were born. Now the youngest has started school last September, I am jobhunting however.

I am not completely sure, but I think you'll continue to get the £5 a week until they get around to your case, at which point you'll receive a letter telling you to either deal with him direct or raise a new case via the new system. If you do the latter, you will have to pay the £20 to apply to open a new case.

I also think they will charge the NRP a fee if he doesn't pay willingly, but that apparently will come out of the payment he already makes. So for example, they'll take £5 off him but you'll get £4.80 because they'll take a 4% fee.

That's my understanding of it; I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I am wrong Smile

There are no changes or fees to existing Csa cases. Only new cases from now will get fees and charges
